Image Guidelines
We accept virtually all forms of photographic media, including prints, negatives or slides, and digital camera files.
We recommend your image have a resolution of at least 1024 x 768 pixels in its original size, or at least 400 KB to produce a quality print.
Uploaded images may be in any of the following formats: JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PNG, or GIF (please note that gif format is not recommended for photographic images).
When using a digital camera for your photo, make sure your camera is set at the highest resolution possible to ensure the best results on your print.
We recommend using a digital camera that is a minimum of 2 Megapixels.
When scanning a print for your project, make sure that you scan the image at a minimum size of 4x6 inches at 300 DPI.
Glossy photos provide better results when scanned, as textured paper can cause light glare on your scanned image.
Original prints always result in a better quality scan than a second-generation copy.
Image editing is not necessary before you send your picture, as we perform color and contrast enhancement, red-eye removal, and cropping on your image prior to designing your card.
When sending negatives, it is best to only send the single strip of film that contains your image, in its protective sleeving.
When sending prints, make sure to package them in a protective envelope to prevent damage during shipping.
We recommend avoiding shipping your original, irreplaceable photos by regular mail. UPS or FedEx are preferred shipping methods as you will be provided with a tracking number to keep an eye on your package.
All prints and negatives will be returned to you in their original condition with your order.
